Robert was again one of Ireland’s top talents in international motorsport in 2007 even though he missed out on the European Championships due to illness. He adapted to the new karting formula introduced this year, and even found time for some racing in the 125mph gearbox class which culminated in a demonstration run in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.
Racing for the factory Maranello team as team-mate to multiple World Champion Davide Fore, Robert finished ninth in the Italian Open Masters (one of the toughest kart championships in the world) despite missing the final round.
